Navarino Icons Kalamon Olive Paste is a savoury spread made from Kalamon olives, the dark, fruit-forward variety grown around Messinia in the Peloponnese. Olives make up the majority of the paste, combined with extra virgin olive oil, red peppers, salt and a mix of herbs and spices, giving it a rounded, herb-flecked character rather than a plain olive puree.

Ingredients and Allergens

The paste is made with Kalamon olives (91%), salt, extra virgin olive oil, an acidity regulator (lactic acid), red peppers and a blend of herbs and spices including oregano, thyme, basil, mint and garlic. None of the 14 EU-regulated allergens are declared for this product.

Flavour and Ways to Use It

The combination of olives, peppers and herbs gives the paste a savoury, herbaceous profile that works well spread on toasted sourdough, rusks, or alongside Kalamon olive breadsticks. It also suits a meze board with aged graviera, feta and cured meats, or can be stirred into pasta or a vinaigrette, or brushed over lamb and white fish before cooking. Serving suggestion: try it as a canapé base with ouzo or a chilled Assyrtiko.
