Manufacturer DescriptionVarietal Composition: 100% Chardonnay
Origin: Exclusively from 25 acres, from the selected Vineyard "Zygos", part of our privately owned vineyard in Atalanti Lokridas.
Vinification: Fermentation takes place in new, French oak barrels, with a capacity of 228 lt. It remains in them for its maturation for 8 months in contact with the lees, applying occasional stirring (bâtonnage technique) thus gaining in complexity and richness of aromas.
Tasting: Bright, golden-yellow color. Charming and multi-layered aromatic ensemble dominated by the gentle presence of wood. Aromas of exotic fruits, peach and nectarine blend harmoniously with aromas of vanilla, honey, butterscotch, and toasted bread. Rich, oily in the mouth with a velvety almost creamy texture, wonderful structure and excellent balance, abundant fruit and an impressive buttery finish.
Aging Power: Shows great aging ability. Enjoy it now or within the next 5-6 years.
Serving: Enjoy chilled, at 12-14 °C.
Harmony: Its complex taste seeks rich dishes. Accompany it with lobster cooked in butter, oily fish with sauce or grilled, white meats with rich sauces and semi-hard yellow cheeses.

Frequently asked questions
What makes Kapnias White a unique Greek Chardonnay?

It's a single-vineyard Chardonnay from the Zygos vineyard, known for its low yields and no irrigation. Fermented and matured in new French oak with bâtonnage, then aged for over a year, it develops exceptional complexity and a distinct smoky character.

How should I serve and pair this wine?

Serve chilled at 10-14°C. Its rich, complex profile pairs beautifully with substantial dishes like butter-cooked lobster, oily grilled fish, white meats with creamy sauces, or semi-hard yellow cheeses. It's also excellent with roasted chicken.
